David Stripland is a Crook
I asked David Stripland to show me the carfax report on the car that I was considering buying from him. At first he "couldn't find it". I suggested that he just go online and reprint the report. He said he didn't know how. When I pressed him, he "found" the report. Or at least page 1 of the report. I asked for the rest of the report but again he said he "couldn't find it" When I said I would look it up myself, he produced pages 3,4,5,6 of the report, hoping I wouldn't notice that he had not given me page 2. I noticed the missing page and asked him for it. Again he "couldn't find" it. I went about looking up the report online when he finally "found" page 2, where it was revealed that the car had sustained "extensive damage"! Note that the six pages of the report had staple holes where they were initially attached together. Every time David Stripland went to the back office to "find" the rest of the report, he was actually taking the report apart to try to hide the information I was asking for. David Stripland intentionally set about to lie and cheat to make a sale. When I confronted him with this accusation, he stammered that "Well, he was actually closed" when I showed up on his lot at 5:05pm. I suppose this makes it all better?! He is honest until 5:00pm then he becomes a crook?! If he had been honest and shown the report to me when I had asked, I would probably have bought the car anyway. As it is now, it is my civic duty to share this experience with other potential victims.
